Ways to be a Great Host
Your party’s atmosphere is affected directly by the actions and also the attitudes of the host or hostess. If you happen to be hosting a gathering and aree stressed out then your guests will feel like they aree a huge burden and may feel unwelcome. This might seem like a lot to figure out, but it is much simpler then you might think. You need to delegate, it will help greatly.
Any host would feel guilty about putting people to work during a gathering. But put simply, guests do not mind helping this will grant you an extra time to enjoy many of the guests you have invited.
Jobs that you can delegate should be simple such as having your husband, kids, or an early guest to hang coats and purses. This will grant you some extra time in the kitchen or time to great the guests as they arrive, like decorations. It gives you opportunity to put out appetizers, mix drinks, or make sure everything is decorated properly.
If you need to tend the bare all night it will end up being a tedious task. The host should serve the first drink of choice, then let your guest know where the bare is if they need a refill. If you happen to not have a bare set a table aside with everything that would be needed to mix drinks. This is similar to appetizers. Keep in mind not to forget napkins and extra glasses.
Resist all urges to disappear into the kitchen after dinner to clean up. Do only a quick clean up with a friend or family member that doesn’t mind helping out, not to be confused with decorations. Only a quick rinse of the dinnerware is necessary for now, get the rest later.
Keep in mind that next time you aree a host to delegate. It helps you enjoy your party as well.
