A handyman would have all these tools
Whether you’re a full blown handyman or just a moderate do it yourself enthusiast, tools are important and you must have in order to have a well rounded workbench from which you can repair or build what you need. Specialty tools may be necessary and won’t automatically be part of this list.
1. Belt sander for smoothing flat surfaces.
2. Chalk lines for straight lines. They can be brushed away when done.
3. Drills. There are a wide variety so get a standard electric drill, battery powered if you can afford it, and an assortment of drill bits.
4. Hammers and nails, in case you want to build portable drafting tables
5. Levels to make sure your decorative window film project is truly straight and level and won’t have things unbalanced.
6. The screwdriver – get a full set of Phillips and slotted. You can never have too many screwdrivers.
7. Tape measure. You can’t have enough of these either as they always seem to disappear.
8. Pliers – get 6 or 8 inch slip join pliers, needlenose pliers and channel type pliers. Vice grips are also important.
9. wrenches – an 8 or 9 inch adjustable wrench and a set of combiation wrenches.
10. Tool box. For when you need to take your tools out to help someone else with a project.
Get organized with garage storage systems for your garage or tool area. Storage racks, ceiling storage, full blown systems or just a simple bench are all options available. Get what you can afford and what you have space for. If you’re organized the jobs will get done faster and you’ll have less stress hunting for your precious tools.
